Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate four robberies of SunTrust Banks located inside Safeway grocery stores that are believed to be committed by the same suspect.

On Thursday, April 4, at approximately 3:39 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the SunTrust bank located inside the Safeway grocery store located at 15411 New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly for the report of the bank robbery that had just occurred. The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller and displayed a note demanding cash. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

On Sunday, March 3, at approximately 4:55 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the SunTrust bank located inside the Safeway grocery store located at 14939 Shady Grove Road in Rockville for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred. The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

On Sunday, February 3, at approximately 3:52 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the SunTrust bank located inside the Safeway grocery store located at 14939 Shady Grove Road in Rockville for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred. The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.

On Sunday, January 27, at approximately 4:05 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the SunTrust bank located inside the Safeway grocery store located at 14939 Shady Grove Road in Rockville for the report of a bank robbery that had just occurred. The investigation by detectives revealed that the suspect approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank.
